Hologic Hitec-Imaging GmbH is a medium-sized company in the metal and electrical industry and part of the Hologic Group. We currently employ around 35 skilled workers, engineers and specialists as well as up to 15 trainees.

We combine decades of experience and expertise in mechanics, electrical engineering, hardware and software development with state-of-the-art tools and machines. Together we create highly innovative and customized solutions in the fields of automation technology & plant engineering, maintenance and service of operating equipment as well as stamping technology.
Our comprehensive know-how in the field of photoconductor technology completes our versatile company profile.

  • 1883 – 1996

    It started with the AEG

    Hologic Hitec-Imaging is a successor company of the former AEG, which was founded in 1883 by Emil Rathenau as “Deutsche Edison-Gesellschaft für angewandte Elektricität”. The site in Warstein-Belecke was put into operation in 1945 with initially 25 employees. In the following years, the Warstein-Belecke site specialized in the development and production of industrial components, which covered the competence areas “semiconductor production”, “electrophotography” and “power supply systems”.

  • 1997 – 2006

    AEG Elektrofotografie & AEG E.M.I. Elektromechanische Industrielösungen GmbH & Co. KG

    In 1997, 5 managers acquired the “Electrophotography” competence area, including equipment manufacturing, through a management buy-out and continued to run it independently as AEG Elektrofotografie GmbH. One year later, the equipment manufacturing department was transferred to a separate company, AEG E.M.I. Elektromechanische Industrielösungen GmbH & Co. KG, was established.

    This was followed by the establishment of two subsidiaries abroad, APC in Hamilton (Ohio), USA and APS in Shanghai, China.

    In the years from 2002 onwards, the Warstein-Belecke facility successfully started coating TFT X-ray panels for mammography applications.

    Due to the lack of a succession plan, AEG Elektrofotografie GmbH was sold to the US company Hologic Inc. in 2006. As part of this corporate acquisition, AEG E.M.I. Elektromechanische Industrielösungen GmbH & Co. KG to AEG Elektrofotografie GmbH

  • Since 2012

    Hologic Hitec-Imaging GmbH

    In 2012, the company was renamed to today’s Hologic Hitec-Imaging GmbH.
    In the course of an extensive corporate restructuring in 2014/2015, the company repositioned itself and has since focused on the two competence areas “Electromechanical Industrial Solutions” and “Electrophotography” at the Warstein-Belecke site.
